MAJOR EVENTS

Fuyuki Construction Co.
[ ✖ ] With his first quest dealing with the construction of a fort, Shirou found that building for the people of Drabwurld to be a fit for his ideals. Therefore, he has decided to found this construction company in order to help the non-shardbearers make a living from their carpentry skills. This construction firm will work for mostly the Unseelie, however, should the Seelie requires an aid in building for whatever reason, they will respond in kind to their request. Naturally, this is risky and Shirou himself knows the folly of helping the other side of this conflict, but this is something he will not back down from. His construction effort will start on the Summer of 2701.

Archery Training
[ ✖ ] While Shirou Emiya is able to fight on his own, he's not exactly at his full strength thanks to his lack of access to his Reality Marble, Unlimited Blade Works. This means that he'll have to find an alternative way to fight in order to protect his friends. Starting from April to the beginning of the summer, Shirou will train his Archery by virtue of hunting wild animals and reading up on how archery is done in this age in order to understand what concepts he needs to pick up in order to not be a liability in battle.

Ideals
[ ✖ ] Admittedly, while Shirou Emiya still wishes to be a Hero of Justice, this ideal is currently muted in favor of overseeing Rin's growth in Drabwurld. While he will still save all the people he'll meet, he will prioritize in the care for Rin and will serve as an enemy to those that would oppose her. At this point he has realized that Rin is someone important to him, vowing to be the best partner she could have no matter what.

PLANS

✖Construction Training : Shirou will go towards Treun for a few months in order to further improve his construction skills. By the time he has returned, he will have learned the basics of building simple homes from reinforced wood.
✖Magic Training : Shirou will start learning more advanced applications of his mage skills while being overseen by Rin Tohsaka.
✖Archery Training : Hunts and sparring with archers of the Unseelie, the result of his training will be the fact that his archery techniques will resemble Archer (Fate/Stay Night).

TIMELINE OF EVENTS

SPRING IN 2,701 (Mar, Apr, May)

MARCH - Shirou will be found helping around in the opening of the new Barrel, before he leaves to Treun to learn about building houses for a few months.
APRIL - As stated earlier, Shirou will still be in Treun in order to learn construction skills. He'll have returned to the Barrel within the end of April.
MAY - This is the month where Shirou will spend his time in discussion with other people of his construction firm idea. Should the discussion go well, establishment of the firm will happen in time during the winter. He'll also hunt around 25-30 gold swans in order to serve as a starting capital for this very venture.

SUMMER IN 2,701 (Jun, Jul, Aug)

JUNE - Shirou went to the tourney at Treun, as a way to promote the Barrel and the startup of his new business. During this period of time Shirou is busy helping around in the Barrel.
JULY - After helping out with Tohsaka's beach party, Shirou continues preparing for his eventual firm opening.
AUGUST - Shirou will be away for a week or two during this period as he hunts wild games and practice his reinforcement magic, he's around at the Barrel, but it's clear that he's completely tired from all those as he'd be resting the last two weeks of the month.

FALL IN 2,701 (Sept, Oct, Nov)

SEPTEMBER - Continuing from September, Shirou continues to hunt in addition to establishing the working of his company. He'll be in Treun talking to townspeople to gauge what needs to be built and who is willing to work with him within his firm at the start. Well, keyword being try thanks to the native not understanding Japanese.
OCTOBER - To house his co-workers, Shirou decided to create a small lodging nearby Treun in order to promote comradery. Shirou is unavailable for contact around that time.
NOVEMBER - While he will be moving to intercept the runaway prisoners, Shirou will be staying near Barrel more during the chaos to make sure everyone's safe.

WINTER IN 2,701/2,702 (Dec, Jan, Feb)

DECEMBER Yule things. Nothing much happened. Having finished up preparation, Shirou quietly opened Fuyuki Construction Co.

Sent to Shirou, should he not be home is a set of knives, stationery featuring the name and address of his construction company, and some dry goods for Japanese cooking picked up from the Station.

[ For Alice, it's a busy day, having round up the children from the orphanage, walking a short distance to the Barrel. It's still taking some time for them to adjust to her and the orphanage, so traveling here is not only the furthest they've done so as a group, but also the first time. Six children are sitting out in the main entrance to the Barrel and Alice peaking in every so often. Typical Alice is in a blue dress and an apron -- she's a usual sight in the Barrel and can be seen slipping behind to prepare drinks or food, sometimes both. For now, she's looking for something to keep them happy and well fed.

Sometimes this work is exhausting. At least behind the counter, Alice can let out a breath of relief, now that they're busy with drawing and chatting amongst themselves. ]

Busy as always, huh?

[ From behind her, there's a voice that announced Shirou's presence in the room. Whenever he's free from his duties or hunting, Shirou can always be found around the kitchen. Whether it's just preparing ingredients or actually cooking, Alice would probably see him around the area all day long on his relaxed days.

If she turns to face him, she'll find him looking at the children with a small smile on his face. ]

But I guess seeing those happy little faces more than made up for it, right?

[ She's seen him a few times, here and there, but largely would keep to herself, nothing outside of polite formality. It would be rude to be anything but, despite Alice being strange when it came to strangers. The children, however, force her to be friendly, they push her out of that shell where she would have retreated and kept to herself. She tries to keep an eye on them, so that an argument doesn't break out, like regular children do.

Other than that, they're unusually quiet for children. ]

I don't have much of a choice. It's good for them, it give them a new atmosphere to absorb so they don't become cooped up.

[ ...He can notice, considering the situations they could be orphaned by in this world, of course they're not exactly healthy in terms of their mind. In fact, those children made him think back on the other orphans from that—

Flashes of fire, people screaming, the scent of burnt bodies

Time. ]

Yeah.

[ Without even prompting, he's going to just. ]

So, you have any idea on what they like to eat?

[ Because he's going to make something for them either ways, so it's not a big deal for him. ]

[ They're far more talkative than her when she was around that age, which isn't saying a lot. She's using her experiences - or lack thereof - to address their issues. She pauses and listen to make sure an argument doesn't break out between them. Of course, when they're stressed, that is more problematic than it usually is. ]

They're not that picky, but I tend to focus on giving them the food that they need.

[ Alice's gaze drops to her hands- ]

Best they eat right now, lest they become small like me.

[ ...Shirou being Shirou, he's going to just awkwardly cough since what is comforting people being unsure about their size. ]

Size isn't everything, you know? I mean... [ how can he phrase this without getting cleaved. ]

Saber's not that tall and she's doing fine.

[ ...SIGH. ]

She's taller than me.

[ Five feet or so, whereas Alice is petite and slender, just standing at four feet and nine inches. Her short stature is a nuisance for her. Right on cue, Alice goes about messing with the ring Lancelot gave her. ]

That's not quite what I meant -- haven't you ever been told to eat your vegetables so that you grow? I wasn't fortunate.

[ She doesn't say that it's because of the ten years away at Rutledge, no. It's from the lack of sunlight and meals she had as a child, stunting her. It's bad enough when the natives around her mistake her for being younger. ]

Some aren't fortunate to have more than just a meal a day. They'll be happy to have that, they're thrilled to have a dinner and breakfast.

[ he changes the topic, it's more easier to talk about lighter things when you're in front of children after all. ]

[ Alice doesn't comment right away, her eyes dart up to one of the younger boys arguing over pencils. ]

Excuse me.

[ Right on cue, Alice slides back out, coming over the table to where the children are. No matter how shaken they are, Liam is refusing to share pencils with Telor and he nearly cries. Alice moves swiftly to tell Liam to share it. After a few moments, Alice returns back behind the counter, tying her apron securely around her waist. She passes a terse look to Shirou.

The children force her to be more open to help; had this been another time, Alice would have declined and would have returned to her room. It's hard to do that with six children out there coloring. ]

I apologize -- but yes, that's fine. It will hold them over until super.

[ She hopes so, anyway. Alice joins, her eyes darting back to watch them like a hawk should another argument break out. ]

Very well, then. Vegetable soup it is.

[ From her terse stare and how she ended the conflict swiftly, Shirou quickly noted that no one should mess with her kids. Because even he can tell that it's a bad idea from way over here. So he's going to finish up chopping two carrots, before he passed an onion to her. ]

Ah, could you help me cut this?

[ He has one of his own, so that way they can prepare them faster. ]

I doubt that they will care much -- they're happy to eat.

[ She knows the feeling, too. In the asylum, she was lucky to have adults pay attention to her and attend her most basic needs. She was a little overbearing, attentative to even their hygeine and clothing.

And, yes, it was wise to never upset the group of children underneath her care. Her calm disposition belays just how frightening she really can be.

Alice doesn't glance up at him as she takes the onion. She's compliant for their sake, where she would be hesitant to be what she deems a close proximity with a stranger. Even if it's been a few months for her doing domestic work, it still feels strange. ]

[ With a nod, Shirou doesn't broach the topic further as he starts putting the chopped carrots into a soup pot, before beginning to work on the other vegetables. As Alice finishes with her ingredients, Shirou wordlessly gives her another vegetable to cut. All in all both of them cut an equal amount of vegetables before Shirou starts sautéeing the aromatics within a pot over the fire before moving to get a jar of chicken stock from the storage.

Then comes the other vegetables, starting from the root vegetables, and then to the lighter ones depending on how long they brown, before it's covered by chicken stock. Shirou then covered the pot with a lid and the preparation is done. But it's clear from the smell even before the pot is covered, that it should be a good one. ]

Well, that settles the main dish! Thanks for helping, Alice.

[ There's a smile on his face, and to be honest it's not hard to smile whenever he finishes making something that everyone else would enjoy to be honest. ]

It's nothing.

[ She keeps her back to the fire, at all costs. One thing she struggles with is a simple fire, even if it's used in cooking. Oftentimes, she consults someone else to light it for her and tend to it.

It makes life difficult with the most basic tasks. ]

Although you don't have to cook, I'm capable of it. You've done plenty of that already around here.

[ That hasn't gone unnoticed by Alice; maybe it's her awkward aversion to strangers, but he always seems like he's behind the kitchen. She's told Waver a few times she doesn't mind helping. ]

Ah? Well, I'm just doing what I could to help around. And besides I really like cooking, so it really doesn't matter.

[ and he's tried some of her cooking whenever she's the one in charge, and he quite liked it himself so. ]

Tell you what, you can take the lead next time and I'll be your assistant, how about that?

[ If she has to, she must. She's learned so far she can't turn people away when they offer help. She's masterful at hiding her irritation through that and remains cordial, despite her apprehension. She leans back out to keep the children in check before she responds- ]

Very well. I promise not to be too much of a task master.

Alright then, I look forward to working with you, Alice.

[ ...As he waits for the soup to cook, Shirou decided to actually go on with getting some cookies from the jar he stored at a higher cabinet, putting them on the plate. ]

Well, it's not so much work, it's-

[ Alice turns her back for one minute and there's the sound of something breaking out in the front. She doesn't mean for it, she takes off into the front to see what has happened. ]

Oh, no.

[ She leaves for one moment, and Liam, Aithne, and Slania are on the table, frozen in place as if they were about to jump all over the front without touching the ground. Who the hell taught them "hot lava"? All of the children, sans Liam are making an "ooooh" noise, as if Liam is going to be in trouble for smashing a teapot. Big, black eyes zone up on Alice, as he starts to stammer. ]

Please don't climb on the tables!

[ Aithne scrambles down, Slania uses Drest's head to plop back in her seat. ]

I swear! It wasn't my idea! It was Aithne's!

No, it wasn't!

[ Alice scoops him him up and places him back on the seat, using her apron to gather up pieces of the teapot. ]

I don't care who's idea it was, we don't climb on furniture indoors! You're going to fall and hurt yourselves.

[ ...He noticed Alice moving off quietly to deal with the rowdiness of the kids, and considering Alice seems to have her hands full with them, Shirou just continued arranging the cookies on the plate as he filled several glasses of milk around the same time. Either ways, after he finished those, he just puts it on a tray and walks out to the living room, setting the whole thing in an empty table away from the one the kids were playing on. ]

Alright kids, settle down, I have a snack for you guys too, so share with each other, alright?

[ The timing is perfect, just as Alice has cleaned up the last pieces. All six of them turn to Shirou with the plate, the smaller ones peaking behind the shoulders of the older ones. Alice gets back up, dusting herself off. It's another unusual moment of silence as the observe him, wondering what he's brought out this time. ]

Thank you.

[ Alice hides her exasperation well, especially around them. ]

They'll share, they're good about that.

[ Alice shoots another glance over to them, watching them whisper and clamour in their sets. ]

Either ways, the snack this time is chocolate chip cookies, and make sure not to eat a lot. Cookies are a sometimes snack after all.

[ Either ways, Shirou smiles at the kids encouragingly, after all, it's quite rare that he gets to interact with kids even back home. Still, it's nice, spending time with someone new, even if he had never really talked to them before. ]

What's chocolate?

[ That's one major question as they peer up at him. For the most part, the children are still a little hesitant to approach a stranger, so, Alice is forced once again to step out of her comfort level. ]

Thank you.

[ Even that is difficult of her. She approaches him calmly, offering to take the plate off his hands. ]

I don't think they've had the chance to enjoy sweets before, save the dried fruit and candy that was given to me.

[ More like Alice woke up with candy plopped on her, but that's besides the point. She brings it over and settles it in the middle of them, still forcing herself to be calm. ]

Remember now, you have to share.

[ That may last a few minutes with how they are, they're happy to have food, whereas Alice was used to rationing. They don't understand the concept of rationing and they're already piling in before Alice can pull her hands away. Good lord.

The first time any of them have ever had chocolate and it's met with jubilation. Kids. When she 's free and they're going nuts over sugar, Alice shuffles back back with a huff. ]

This is the second time they've ever had the pleasure of eating anything sugary. Let's just hope they don't climb on anything else afterwards.

[ There's a bit of a smile on Shirou's face, to be honest. Especially now that he hears that the kids rarely had sugary treats as it is. He's just glad that he could help them enjoy things that they couldn't before, to be honest. And it gave Shirou thought on how this should be okay but he just keeps flashing back to his ideal.

To be a hero of justice, a superhero that can save everyone.

It's hard, choosing this path just within this world but at the very least he could make small differences in other people's lives. ]

Don't worry, I'm sure they don't want to worry you that much.

[ At least, he hopes so. ]

That's debatable, or rather, that would depend on their moods.

[ She remembers at that age she didn't really make an effort to stop her sister and parents from worrying. All of her adventures outdoors to falling off the trees or falling asleep during lessons, not once did she make an effort to pay attention to their feelings.

To think that used to make her feel guilty. ]

They're children, they're not going to be as empathetic as adults, sometimes. They're still growing; I'm sure my fretting is the bottom of their concerns between toys and recess.

[ Or passing out the candy and dried fruit given to her by Lancelot. She just couldn't muster the courage to tell him she didn't like sweets, but they liked them. ]

[ It's not as if he could understand Alice's words, but it sounded logical to him regardless. Yeah, compared to other children, Shirou was a bit mature as a kid partly thanks to his broken self as he recovered from the fire.

He's mostly recovered now, but still... ]

Even so, I'm sure they're glad that they have a good role model to follow in their life.

[ he knows he was happy, even in the short time he spent with Kiritsugu. ]

I'm not a very good role model.

[ At least, in her opinion. Her self-deprecation won't allow her to take a compliment. Alice was a very blunt person, she spoke her mind without considering how others would perceive her sometimes. She glances back to the children clearly going all out at the food with a small scoff. ]

I'm giving them what I lacked as a child. If they need a mentor, they can turn to the other adults in their lives, certainly not me.

[ She's well aware that the times she scolded both Maglor and Lancelot made her a hypocrite as she said that. ]

Ah, but what if they do ask you for advice? After all, you're their caretaker by proxy now.

[ It's alright Shirou knows some hypocrites in his life too, tbh. ]

Then I will give it to the best of my ability, I don't like to lie.

[ She really doesn't. She just hopes that the questions remain innocent and childlike, until they're old enough for more. ]

[ Don't tempt fate, because there will be a point where that is going to be asked. ]

That's good enough for me!

[ ...Yep, these kids will be just fine, he knows that's going to be the case with this girl as their caretaker. ]

Come on, let's get the soup ready before they jump on the table again.

[ She really hopes that it won't happen. Alice knows by now not to raise her expectations when it comes to children. She came into this with lowered ones, actually, expecting children to climb on tables.

She's been half-right so far. ]

Alright.

[ She wouldn't put it past them in attempting to climb Waver's bookshelf. The look she passes them says it all: behave. ]
